A Busy Week in Year 3

 Hi Year Three Families,

It's been a rather lovely busy week in Year 3.  We had a wonderful time with The Bank of Dreams and Nightmares on Wednesday, trying to impress the bank manager with our stories.

We also had a lovely time on Tuesday painting our 'Mini Pipers' as part of our Stampede by the Sea focus.

In English we finished our poetry and Northern Lights Focus and today we have begun a new class text The Tin Forest.

On Monday we will start a new unit in maths of Length and Perimeter  and we are continuing our focus on South America in Geography.

Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss anything.

Stampede By the Sea

This week we will have an Stampede by the Sea Inspired to Learn Arts Week. Each child will create their own elephant which has been kindly donated by Howards Motor Group.

The Children will be working with Artists from Poundbury Art to complete their design. Please can your child bring an old large t-shirt to put over their school uniform whilst they are painting. We will be using Acrylic paint which can stain clothing.

We can't wait to share updates with you as the week goes on.

Great first week back

Hi Year Three Families,

We've had a lovely start to term, it's been lovely to see everyone settle back into life in Year Three.

In English we are participating in a whole school English focus on the Northern Lights with the story The Lights That Dance, we will be continuing this focus next week.

In Maths we have been learning how to multiply numbers we will continue this focus next week as well.

We had a fabulous time swimming on Thursday and really enjoy our session with HSBC this afternoon.

In Science we have begun learning about Forces, I have included some photos from our experiments and observations this week.

In Geography and DT we have started new learning. Our homework is linked to our learning in DT (see below for details)

Next week is a whole school science week and we will be taking part in a whole school investigation and a visit from the Planetarium. We also have our parent information session on Friday morning at 9:00

Please ensure that all PE kits are in school as we have PE on Monday. We were very low on Reading Records this week, please ensure that these are returned every Friday in the folders provided at the beginning of the year with any home learning etc.

Here are the details of home learning. This should have come home with your child today.

Please do get in touch if you have anything you would like to discuss.

Last Day of Term!

 Hi Year Three Families,

Phew! Here we are at the end of term. I am so proud of how far the children have come this term and I know you are too. They are continually a joy to be with and they all work so hard.

We have been so impressed with their attitude and performance skills during The Boy, the Mole, The Fox and The Horse and especially their beautiful singing.

This week we have been busy with a fantastic Art project making Lino Prints we, hope you enjoy the cards and have found somewhere special for their ‘Plinth People’ to live.

I will be in touch again with plans for the Spring Term in the New Year.

Thank you for all your support and kindness this term and for all our wonderful gifts.

I would like to pay a special thank you to the Year 3 team, Mrs Scott, Mrs Thomas and Miss Gosling they have worked incredibly hard all term and myself and Year 3 would be lost without them.

All that is left to say is Merry Christmas, May your days be Merry and Bright.

See you 2025.
