HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone have any compost that I could use tomorrow, pretty please - rather than spending a fortune on new bags, I would rather see if there are any half bags that need using up first!?
Also, if anyone has any part used BRIGHT gloss paint that they could donate for the tyre planters, that would be great too!
Thank you!

Home Learning Activity Year 3 – week of Friday 26th February
We have asked the children to create an “Eco Poster” that
focuses on an environmental theme of their choice.
(Some possibilities: “Don’t Drop Litter”, “Save Energy – Don’t
Waste Electricity”, “Stop the Elephant Hunters!” “Recycle Your Household
Waste”, “Polar Bears in Danger from Global Warming”, “Put Your Fruit Waste in
the Compost Bin” – and many more, of course.)

Year 3 Myth Writing
This week the children in Year 3 have been enjoying writing their own stories in the style of ancient Greek myths.
Here are some of the targets that the children have been working towards:
My capital letters are clearly bigger than my lower case letters.
I have used adjectives, adverbs and other interesting words to make my story more detailed and exciting.
I have used connectives to link clauses into compound sentences.

Recycled Owl Competition
Can
you create an OWL from recycled materials? Your finished
creation will need to be made from things that will withstand the outdoors. We
are planning to display all of the owls in the trees and other high perches
around the school grounds.
The
deadline for entries to the competition need to “wing” their way here by
Wednesday 2nd of March.

We need your help!
We need your help!
Monday 29th February – We are having a whole
school eco activity day. The children will
have chosen three activities they wish to do; they will visit other classrooms
and work with children across the school.
If you are able to come on in and lend a hand, then please let your
class’s team know. The more helpers the more successful these activities can
be!
Also, events and learning through eco week are going on
throughout this week. Again, if you have a small amount of time spare, please
do let us know, we would really appreciate any extra offers of help. Again,
please talk to your child’s teacher/ team.
Finally, thank you to all of you who have been bringing in
wanted items by staff for eco week, we very much appreciate all of the items,
these will help in ensuring the children’s learning and activities can be as
exciting and fun as planned!

- a description of a particular dragon
- a play script
The choice is yours! Happy writing!
Please
can you try to learn these facts (-if you don’t already know them).
There are 60 seconds in one minute.
There are 60 minutes in one hour.

Year 3 Home Learning Activities - Friday 5th February
Home Learning – Friday 5th February Year 3
1. Problems to Solve
There are 80 sweets in the
jar. Mr. MacBean eats 30 of them. Mrs Thorne and Mrs Long share the rest
equally between them. How many do Mrs Thorne and Mrs Long get each?
Mrs. Long and Mrs. Bernard
both give £15 towards buying “Snappy” the new classroom pet crocodile. He costs
£50, so how much more money do they need to save up?
2.And a poem to learn:
Can you recite this to one of
the teachers next week?
Never let it rest,
Until the good is better
And the better best.

Please bring any of these to the Year 1 classroom or give them to your teachers to pass on.
