Fun with Pancakes/Crepes in our French Lesson.

This afternoon, the children in Years 3 and 4 had fun with pancakes in their French lesson. They learned how to politely ask for a pancake with their personal choice of topping. We also did work on the computers and learned some French Dances.

Thank you to the parents for providing so many pancakes and such a range of toppings for us all to enjoy. It was a very successful afternoon.

We have put some photos of our afternoon in our Class Photo Gallery.

Year 3 - Regarding Swimming Lesson and World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March

Swimming is due to go ahead as usual this Thursday.
Can I suggest that children might like to bring costumes in a plastic bag (possibly on Wednesday before if that's easier) and change into them when we return from Swimming. I appreciate that this could cause problems if face-paint is required; but we can have a go at "applying" this after swimming too. More robust/ or simpler costumes can be taken to the pool and changed out of, and into there if that is easier.
Many thanks,
Duncan MacBean

French Pancakes Year 3 and 4 - Tuesday 28th February

Dear Parents,
Next Tuesday (28th), the children in Year 3 and 4 are celebrating Shrove Tuesday by having a French Pancake Café during their French lesson.

We will be ordering our toppings for our “crepe” in French, singing some French songs, dancing and, of course,  tossing pancakes.
Although we will be showing the children how a pancake is made, we do not intend to make 60+ pancakes. We would be very grateful to any parents who could help to provide pre-made pancakes (available at the supermarket), or any toppings (Nutella, lemon, jam etc). These would need to be brought to school on Monday or Tuesday next week.

Many thanks,
Duncan MacBean and Sam Johnson

It would be great if you could present some of your findings:

Maybe a short piece of writing, or diagrams, or pictures etc

UK Safer Internet Day - in Year 3

Today, the children in Year 3 spent some time discussing how to be safer on-line.
We used the power point presentation resource provided by the "UK Safer Internet Centre" and paid particular attention to how to share photographs safely and key things to remember before posting anything on-line.
