Year 3 Book Return

Dear Parents,
Please can you encourage your children to bring all of the school's reading books that they have been enjoying at home back to school this week? We need to get things tidied up and organised ready for the new academic year, so it would be great if they could bring books back as soon as possible please.
This includes library books and "guided reading" books.
Thank you,
DM.

Fun in our Jungle Book Assembly - Year 3

The children in Year 3 had a great time this morning performing their Jungle Book Assembly. The main objective was to have fun... and I think they certainly did that! The story had a bit of an environmental edge to it too though, with Mowgli becoming a Nature Conservationist and Shere Khan being given the protection he deserved as an endangered species.
Thank you for providing such an array of amazing costumes. We hope that you had as much fun watching as we did performing.
I have put some photos of the assembly in the Y3 Class Gallery.

Year 3 Class Assembly and Costumes

Dear Parents,
Just to remind you that our Year 3 Class Assembly is on Friday 14th July at 9.20 am.
We are doing a piece of drama around the theme of "The Jungle Book".
As usual, the children are quite keen to dress up! They are playing the parts of various animals, or as narrators, they are Indian villagers. If possible it would be great if your children to put together a simple costume for Friday. They will be able to tell you what character they are playing. However, please don't worry about creating an amazing costume (and definitely don't buy one specially for the occasion); a simple pinned-on tail and some play-clothes will be fine.
We hope to see you on Friday.
Many thanks,
Duncan MacBean

Year 3 Swimming Gala - Thursday 6th July

A quick reminder that we are having a "Swimming Gala" during our Swimming session tomorrow. Parents are welcome to come along to watch. The Gala will be organised in a "playful way" (rather like the events of our Sports Morning) so that the children get the chance to take part in lots of events.

Please can I remind you to observe the Swimming Pool's rule:
NOT TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS AT THE POOLSIDE.

Year 3 Tae Kwondo

As part of our "Healthy Living Week", the children in Year 3 had fun today having a go at Tae Kwondo. Our thanks to Roxy and Sarah for coming in to give the children this experience.
I have put some photos in the year 3 Gallery.

Year 3 Sports Morning

The children in Year 3 had fun this morning getting involved in lots of sporty activities.
The Track and Field events were very fairly contested. The Sports Skills Display was enthusiastically displayed. The Country Dancing was (mostly) joyfully participated in!

Many thanks to all of the parents and grandparents who were able to come along and enjoy the morning with us. Well done to the children for their good attitudes and sporting behaviour.

I have put some photos of the children (skilfully taken by Mr. Davenport) into the Year 3 Class Gallery.

Y3 Y4 - Railway Safety Session

Our thanks to P.C. Nigel Scott of the British Transport Police for coming in today to talk to the children in Year 3 and Year 4 about the importance of staying safe when near the Railway.
