Year 3 Home learning – Summer Half-term Hol

As a “Home Learning” activity for the half-term holiday, I have suggested to the children in Y3 that they have a go at writing a play script.
This is something that we looked at in class today.
Have a lovely holiday!

We are selling Eco-Delphis Squirty Cleaning Liquid on Mondays

We want you all to know that Eco-Delphis Cleaning Products are now available for you to buy at the Prince of wales School.
We will be outside the office on Monday morning between 8.45 and 9.00 am to sell it to you.
You can buy the bottles, or just buy the cleaning liquid if you bring your own squeezy-handle bottle. If you buy a squeezy-handle bottle the first time, you will be able to use it every time you run out and need another top-up.
From Emilie, Erin, Alyce, Samantha, Lexie and Abel (Year 2)

Year 3 "Home Learning" Wed 16th May

I have asked the children to practise reading their lines for their Class Assembly.
The Class Assembly is this Friday (18th) at 9.20. The children will be reading their lines, so they don't have to be able to recite them. The children are, however, going to be reciting the 3x and 4x Tables, so more practice with this would also be a good idea.
We do hope that you can get along to the Assembly, which is a celebration of the work we have done so far this term.

The Swallows are back at the Prince of Wales School

Welcome Home!
We are delighted to welcome back our Swallows to the Prince of Wales School, who are nesting again under the arch of the doorway at the back of the school hall.

British swallows spend their winter in South Africa - they travel through western France, across the Pyrenees, down eastern Spain into Morocco and across the Sahara. Some birds follow the west coast of Africa avoiding the Sahara. Other European swallows travel further east and down the Nile Valley. Swallows put on little weight before migrating.

Migration is a hazardous time and many birds die from starvation, exhaustion and in storms.
Migrating swallows cover 200 miles a day, mainly during daylight, at speeds of 17-22 miles per hour. The maximum flight speed is 35 mph.
Swallows arrive in the UK in April and May. They will return to South Africa in September.

Year Three - Home Learning Wednesday 9th May

As their "home learning" activity this week, I have asked the children in Year 3 to have a go at learning the 3 and 4 Times Tables.
(I have suggested to some children that they might like to try the "2-Times Table" instead.)
