Year Three - Home Learning 20.6.18 "Fiver Challenge"

The children in Year three have been allocated a working party and a "Business" to work on for next weeks "Fiver Challenge". The businesses that the children have come up with are:
Egg Sale, Cupcake Sale, Popcorn, Lemon Drink, Tattoos/Facepaint, World Cup Bracelets, Lollipops and Biscuit Selection Boxes.
For their "home learning" this week, we are suggesting that the children work on their business ventures by making some posters to promote their sales and by beginning to prepare what they need.
The "selling" of the children's produce will take place after school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week.

Bike-It-Breakfast and Dr. Bike

Well done to those children and parents who came to school today on bicycles and scooters to be rewarded with a "Bike-It-Breakfast!"
Our thanks to Jonathan Dixon, our Sustrans Officer for giving all the bikes at school a "Bicycle Health Check". Jonathan has fixed lots of bits and bobs that needed fixing and left each bicycle with a "report" of what work needed doing.

Year Three visit from Sustainable Schools' Officer, Alison Jay

Year Three enjoyed a visit today from our Sustainable Schools' Officer, Alison Jay.
Alison talked to the children about how we can "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" and the children played a thought-provoking board game to draw their attention to how this is part of our everyday lives.
Alison gave the class some pencils that had been made from recycled plastic cups.

Year 3 Home Learning Activity Wednesday 13th June

Year 3 Home Learning Activity         Wednesday 13th June

Part 1         “Dabbling Free”
– a poem in “The Wind in the Willows” by Kenneth Grahame
Can you finish decorating the “poem page” with sketches of the dabbling ducks and the characters of Rat and Mole as they take the little boat down the river?
Can you learn to recite this poem? – or a part of it?

Part 2           “World Cup Country Research”
The children have all been given a (different) country of those taking part in this year’s Football World Cup.
Can they find out 4 interesting facts about the country that they were given?
