Next week
the children in Year 3 will be writing the story of “Barnacle Ben” and his adventures
as a sailor. This is tied in with our class assembly at 9.20 am on Friday 27th
November.
This writing
will follow the “The Big Write” approach,- where we encourage the children to spend time
talking over their ideas for their writing at home beforehand. The story will be in the form of some diary
entries at different stages of Barnacle Ben’s adventures. There are 5 stages to his adventures:
Being tricked on board the ship
Learning to become a sailor
A battle with pirates
The mutiny
Finding land at last
