Y3- Let inclusive sports week commence!

Tomorrow starts the beginning of our Inclusive sports weeks (3). We will be doing a range of different sports over the next 3 weeks. This week on Monday we will be watching an assembly with Paralympian Helena Lucas.

On Tuesday we will be playing Boccia which is similar to bowls but uses a ramp to position the balls and there are two teams the blue and red. Then on Friday we are having a socially distant dance day! Unfortunately we can't have everyone in this year to watch but we will be posting videos of our dance. If you are at home and would like to partake via video link you of course can. Year 3 this year are learning the cha-cha slide. A simple but fun song that directs your moves in the song. I will be in touch at the beginning of the week to talk through this for the people at home.

Roll on our Sports themed weeks!

Y3- Just a quick note...

If your child is returning to school on Monday then please could we have all of their Power Maths books (including 3C) and RWI books.

I have spoken to the majority of you now and told you about where to drop off and your timings (please don't go in to the rooms but just wait outside) . Please do try and stick to these as everyone has a staggered time to prevent too many people in one area.

If you have any other questions about next week please feel free to email at b.thorpe@princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk

We're really looking forward to seeing you. But if you are still at home don't worry we we still be in contact and the virtual school will still be happening.

Y3- Hello!

Hello everyone!

I hope you are able to enjoy some of this beautiful weather that we are having? It is great to speak to so many of you during the weekly wellness calls. Miss Johnson is also doing these calls now.

Some parents have mentioned that the learning at home is becoming more of a struggle and that it is slowing down. This is just a message to remind everyone that this is completely ok. Please don't feel pressured to keep up with the virtual school. It is there if you need it. A walk, cycle, pond dip, board game or a craft is a great activity to do with your child.

We have also been to Cranborne, the Roman town house and Maiden Castle.

Y3- Information to share please

Hello everyone I hope you are all keeping well. It is lovely to speak to you all on the weekly calls. Please do contact us if you need anything between the calls.

There is a definite change in weather today! It's a great day to test out making crafts such as wind socks. If you google make your own windsock some simple and effective ideas pop up!
I've had a couple of people ask me about ideas for writing. On the virtual school there are links to ideas with what you could do every day. There is some writing involved in the daily RWI sessions but if you wanted more then how about a diary of their day? Letter to a friend or family member? But please don't feel like you have to have a normal school day that includes all the lessons as it is all different at the moment.

We are starting to look at the end of year reports. Please could I ask you to ask your child a few things they have enjoyed doing in Year 3. As a reminder of some of the things we have covered; the Rainforest and the great Kapok tree(adopted a Orangutan), North pole research unit where we learnt about Shackleton, clay workshop, basketball, Forest School, Stone Age, Celts (Boudicca), Romans, Maiden Castle trip, Roman town house and Cranbourne. We only need a few sentences, please could you send these to b.thorpe@princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk
If you wouldn't mind sharing this message on any group chats that the class has that would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance! Look forward to speaking to you all again soon

Year 3 - Welcome back to the Summer Term 2020

Hello Year 3, we hope you are all well and enjoyed your Easter even though it was probably a bit different to usual.  Hopefully you all got to enjoy some chocolate and a little of the lovely weather in your garden or on your daily exercise walks.

We have been busy putting together lots more fun learning activities together for virtual school which will return to our usual timetable on Monday.  You can access Power Maths, Literacy Challenges, Read Write Inc lessons, Afternoon Challenges as well as Good Morning POW, Assemblies and Today at POW which are broadcast live by Mr Spracklen every day.  Access to all of this is through Facebook, YouTube as well as our school website.  There are also up and coming special events such as our popular quiz nights on Thursdays and another virtual disco!

We hope you are all keeping safe and happy.  If you have any problems with the learning or there is anything we can help with, please contact us by email.

Kind wishes and hoping to see you all soon.
