This week
the children in Year 3 will be writing the story of “Jack Spice” and his
adventures as a sailor (in the sixteenth century). This is tied in with our
class assembly at 9.20 am on Friday 2nd December.
This writing
will follow the “The Big Write” approach; where we are using drama to set out
the story and encouraging the children to spend time talking over their ideas
for their writing beforehand.
The story will be in the form of some diary entries at different stages of Jack’s adventures. There are various chapters in his adventures:
Being tricked on board the ship.
Learning to become a sailor.
Sailing around the World with Francis Drake.
The mutiny!
Battle with the Spanish Armada.
