Year 3 Head Off to the Farm
What wonderful weather and harvest time fun we had at the farm today. A massive thank you to Hazel and Maiden Castle Farm for having us to visit again. The children enjoyed seeing all the sights and sounds and smells of the farm at harvest time and had lots of great questions about what they saw! I wonder if they can remember the following five facts?
1. What S is a female mother pig called?
2. What is straw made from? a) seeds b) stalks of crops c) dried grass
3. What B is a male pig?
4. Name 5 things that Maiden Castle Farm produce for people to eat?
5. What E is a female sheep?
Year 3 thinks that Thomas' new pig should be called Derek. What do you think?
He really enjoyed eating our fresh fruit and veg waste from our snack as well as a good scratch on the fence.
Thanks again Hazel for your time today, we really appreciate finding out more about where our food has come from!
