Designing Our Online Safety Champions!

Today in Computing, Year Three pupils took part in an exciting activity as part of a national competition to design an Online Safety Champion. Using a special template, the children were asked to think creatively and draw a character who could help others stay safe online. There were fantastic ideas on display – from superheroes with protective shields to wise, friendly guides who help spot danger on the internet!

This activity was not just about drawing – it helped us explore important e-safety messages. We discussed how our champions could represent key values such as kindness, respect and responsibility when using technology.

At our school, online safety isn’t just taught in Computing. It’s a theme we weave throughout our curriculum – in PSHE lessonswhole-school assemblies, and everyday conversations. Whether we’re talking about personal information, treating others with respect or knowing what to do if something doesn’t feel right, we’re always learning how to be smart, safe and respectful digital citizens.

We can’t wait to send off our entries and see if any of our Online Safety Champions are chosen – but whatever the outcome, we’re proud of the thoughtful and creative work from everyone today!
