A busy week in Yr 3

 Hi Yr 3 families,

We have been very busy since the beginning of term.

In History this half term we will be studying the Tolpuddle Martyrs, over the past few weeks we have been exploring what led up to the Tolpuddle martyrs forming a union and making their 'illegal oath' this week will be learning about their sentence and what happened next.

In Art we are exploring landscape collage, and studying the work of Saoirse Morgan, we are creating our own collages using a range of techniques including paint, ink and crayon. Hardy's' Monument is our inspiration!

In maths we have continued our focus on time, children have found this very tricky, I would urge that you continue to support children in their knowledge of telling the time over the coming weeks and months as it is a great skill to master!

In English we are continuing our focus on Flotsam, this week we have been looking at fronted adverbials and expanded noun phrases.

On Friday children learnt how to complete a relay race in PE. They were absolutely incredible, they worked so well together whilst they learnt how to safely pass the baton it was a joy to witness! We are looking forward to showing you during sports day! Please ensure everyone has a PE kit in school.

Forest school continues on Wednesdays.

Thank you for all the continued support with Reading Records, we peaked at 28, but it has fallen slightly, please can we try and ensure all children bring them in on Friday we are aiming for a whole class set!

Please do get in touch if you need anything.

Ms Evans, Mrs Scott and Mrs Thomas
