Apologies for the late blog, this went out in paper form last week:
Year 3 #InspiredToLearn Home Learning - 18th March 2021
This week we have been learning about Roman Soldiers and their training, where they travelled and what they might have eaten on their way.
This week’s home learning choices:
Last call for shields! This week we would like the children who haven’t yet done so to design and make a shield in readiness for our battle reenactment due to take place in the last weeks of this term, Romans v Celts (date to be confirmed). Thank you to those of you who have already done this or joined in with the shield making taking place in school. Hufflepuff and Gryfindor are making Celtic shields and Ravenclaw and Slytherin are making Roman shields. We have had some wonderful examples so far, thank you!
Find out 5 fascinating facts about Boudicca. One of the resistant Iron Age Tribes who the Romans met on their journey through Briton were the Iceni tribe with their fearsome leader Boudicca. Find out the best facts you can about her.
Trail Bread. We have discovered that a Roman Soldier who travelled to Britain in 43AD didn’t have a very good diet! They had to carry what they ate and that didn’t give them much choice. Today we started making trail bread and experimented with flavouring it with other ingredients. Here is the recipe - why not try your own trail bread recipe? What would you add?
