Y3: The battle, skeletons and planting!!!

This week Year 3 have enjoyed being outside in our glorious garden. We have prepared a raised bed, planted a herb tray and planted wild flowers for the butterflies and bees.

In Science this week we have revisited the difference between an invertebrate and a vertebrate and started to learn about the human skeleton.

In Literacy on Monday we did some drama where the children were pretending to be Roman soldiers on the boat over to Britain, marching, in the fort and making the tortoise formation. Yesterday we learnt and wrote about some of the benefit of the Romans invading and today was the highly anticipated battle! We of course explained that there wouldn't actually be any contact made in this battle but instead we had a pretend one!!! There were some scary looking Celts and Romans! Thank you for all the hard work on the shields we really had such an amazing range of shields. We will share a video of this soon.

In Maths this week we have been adding and subtracting money. This has been quite tricky at times but we have been Regee the resilient Tortoise and persevered through the questions.

**If anyone has accidentally come home with a small blue watch in their bag please could you give this to a member of the team. A class member has lost it and would very much like it back. Thank you**

Hope you have a great rest of the week
