Year 3: Awards and reminders for tomorrow

Wow it certainly has been very warm this week! We've been keeping cool in the woodland (which has been cooler than our room) and having ice pops and putting our feet in water!

We have had our awards assembly today. It is always extremely hard to choose the children for these awards as we feel like we could give these to lots, we are really proud of everyone in the class this year and the learning journey they have been on.
Well done to the children who got the Summer 2 medals 😊

Tomorrow morning we will be walking to the cinema first thing in the morning. The children do not need any snacks as we will be purchasing these from the cinema.

Please can we have all books back tomorrow and in return we will be sending home their work books etc.

I have said that the children can bring in a board game to play tomorrow afternoon. They don't have to bring one of course as I am sure there will be enough to play with. Please no toys or electronic games just good old fashioned board games.

Lastly, we are back to wearing normal school uniform tomorrow.

See you all tomorrow

Year 3 this week

Can you believe that it is the last week of the term?!

On Monday and Tuesday this week we will try and keep to our core subjects in the morning and then the afternoons get very warm in our classroom so we will be spending time in the shade outside. It is vital that your child has a hat in school, drink and sun cream on.

On Wednesday we will be going to the cinema in the morning.

Thursday we will be watching the leavers assembly.

Please can we have all books back in school this week.

See you all tomorrow please remember it is non school uniform

Y3: Fantastic trip!

We have had a brilliant trip today to the Etches collection in Kimmeridge.

We tested our knowledge on the Jurassic coast, Mary Anning and fossil formation (our knowledge is amazing!!) We then went into the gallery and saw lots of different fossils. We even got to see a glimpse of Steve Etches himself working away at his new fossil finds! I wonder if your child can remember how many years old the fossils were in his collection??

If you haven't visited the Etches Collection then it is highly recommended. Thank you to Nick and Emily who were our museum guides today. We had an amazing trip.

Year 3: This week...

We hope you've had an enjoyable weekend in the sunshine. It's going to be extremely hot this week so please make sure your child has a sun hat, sun cream and a drinks bottle in school. As our room is very hot in the afternoons we will be spending more time learning outside in the shade as this is a lot cooler.

On Monday afternoon the children will be spending some time with Mr MacBean as part of the transition process.

On Tuesday we are going to Kimmeridge on our trip so a packed lunch is needed please. We are going to the Etches collection just for the morning to see all of the different types of fossils that have been found along the Jurassic coast. Normal school uniform for the trip please.

See you all tomorrow

Y3: Amazing!

Thank you all so much for your hard work and positivity during the Fiver Challenge. It really was a joy to watch and hear how excited the children were about it, some even want to carry on their business! I haven't got a definite total yet but we have made over £500!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!

We were all so proud of everyone's dance skills on Friday! We loved practising our song.

This week we carry on with time in Power Maths. We will be moving from reading the time in intervals of 5 minutes to 1 minute.

In Literacy we are starting to plan an exciting story.

Just a reminder that it is our sports afternoon on Tuesday from 1.30pm.
