The Jewish sabbath

Today Year 3 learnt about how a Jewish family celebrate Shabbat. We tasted some chicken soup, looked at the special hallah bread and drank some wine. (well blackcurrant juice!) Next week we shall be finding out about Moses leading the Jewish people out of slavery. The children could find this story in a children's Bible and read it in Exodus.
