To use knowledge of suffixes to generate new words from root words.

Here are some words you know. They are called 'root' words.  Can you make other words from them?

Make new words from the root words and write them.

 1. child

3. glad

4. nice

5. care

6. cold

7. hope

8. friend

 These suffixes may help you :-

-ship, -er, -ful, -est, -ness, -ly, -ment, -ish, -hood, -dom, -less, -like

I have also given a bit of extra "Mathematics" to some of the children.
