Year 3: Week 2

We have had a fantastic week in Year 3 continuing our learning about Ernest Shackleton. This week we have made lists of items to take on the voyage to Antarctica and gave justifications of why we should take them. We have also been writing letters home to our families telling them what the journey has been like. The challenge was to use a synonym for the words scared and excited!

In Maths we have completed arithmetic and reasoning test papers and moved onto our new unit on multiplication and division.

In Science this week the children had to make a healthy and unhealthy dinner. We have been talking about the different food groups and about what makes a balanced diet. Today, the children were predicting which drinks had more sugar in. Some of them were shocked at the results!

Swimming was absolutely brilliant and the children worked hard, listening to the instructors. You can just let me know on Thursday mornings if you are picking up at the swimming pool.

Yesterday we were very lucky and got to go in a planetarium. We jetted into our solar systems and looked at the different star constellations, planets and galaxies.

Thank you to everyone who made it to the parent information session. A recording will be coming out later to those of you who haven't been able to attend.

Have a lovely weekend
