What a fun filled and inspiring end of the week we had last week! World book day saw a range of different characters in the room. We shared our favourite stories and thought about why that story is our favourite. We even listened to a couple of chapters of our class text 'melt' as an audio book. Thank you to POWSA that provided the class with pass the parcel and jelly an ice cream!
In the afternoon we had a talk from Bob, a Scientist who bought in a number of space rocks to show the children. He spoke all about Mars and the different rovers on it. The children are looking forward to going to see Mars on Tuesday ๐
On Friday we explored the Amazon Rainforest using Google Earth- Voyager. This is an amazing website you can access from home. If you use the Voyager link (the sign underneath the magnifying glass) and scroll down you will see 'The Amazon Basin'. When you click on the link it will take you there and you can even put the person on the map. The children were so curious about this. I did mention to them the importance of having adult supervision when using anything on the internet.
At the end of the day on Friday the children got to go on the bouncy castle (which was from our world book day celebrations). Then they had an 'out of this world' experience in a planetarium! We visited all of the planets and the sun. We even saw a rocket launch. This was a fantastic experience and the children had lots of questions.
Home learning this week is to fill in the countries where there are Rainforests on the world map. The countries are on the right hand side.
