Home Learning Year 3 - Friday 20th March

Home Learning Year 3 Friday 20th March

1.    I would like you to do some thinking!
Next week in class you will each be making an Anglo-Saxon/Viking Board Game.
The year is 1000 A.D….. The place is the South Dorset Ridgeway….. Anglo-Saxon settlements are being threatened by “Danes” from the across the North Sea.
The children will be creating a dice-board game that is set in this “scenario”.

Things to think about:
What are the rules?
How do the players use the “Chance” cards?
What “pieces” will the players use to move across the board?

You need not start to make your board game because will be doing this in class. However, you can start to plan some ideas and perhaps have a chat about your ideas with your family.

 2.    Spellings (Choosing from 4 lists as usual)
3.    Multiplication. Practise your “times tables” for the “test” next week. Are you choosing to do the test of the “2s and 10s” or the “3s and 5s”, or the “4s and 8s”?

4.    Growing a Bean. We are providing the children with a bean and a plastic cup. They will need to get some cotton wool, or blotting paper (+water). Watch your bean grow.
