Y3: Food, Faith and Farming Fortnight- Week 1

What a busy week we have had this week!

On Monday Mr MacBean took Year 3 to the farm where they learnt all about the cows Hazel has there. They learnt about what foods cows produce and what they are fed. Thank you so much to Hazel and Maiden Castle farm for the visit!

On Tuesday, Pip came in and gave a talk on what it is to be a baptised Sikh. This was a fascinating talk that explained about the Khalsa and 5 K's. The children were so inquisitive and learnt so much about being a Sikh. Thank you so much Pip for coming in.

On Thursday the children enjoyed spending time outside in the afternoon making art work using natural materials.

And finally today (Friday) the children had a talk from Sherene all about Islam and the link of food. Sherene explained about the five pillars of Islam and the beliefs of Muslims surrounding certain foods. Thank you so much Sherene for coming to give this talk. The children came away with lots of new knowledge and understanding.

Just a reminder the you can now book your parent evening slots. If you can't make these or think you will need a longer slot then please do feel free to email me.

We cheered Mrs Hall out today and wished her lots of luck for her exciting London Marathon adventure on Sunday!

Have a lovely weekend
