Year 3: End of week 3 and home learning

Well the end of the week in Year 3 has been full of exciting learning opportunities. In DT the children have been learning about seasonal fruits and vegetables. We collected apples from our school grounds and made apple crumble. The children learnt about rubbing the butter, flour and sugar together to form the crumble and how to form a bridge to cut safely. These have now been frozen and will be on offer during our Harvest food tasting session.

In Art we have been learning about printing. After our successful printing session earlier in the week we asked Edith's Mum Rebecca in to show us how to print professionally. All of the children were so engaged and listened brilliantly. Rebecca's work was amazing to see and the children got to help to make two prints. They learnt how to mix the different ink colours, how to roll out the ink and press it using the blocks she had made. Thank you so much Rebecca!

Home learning this week is to look at this picture and write about it. Where could it be? Could you write a story about it?

We hope you all have an enjoyable weekend. See you on Monday for the start of our Food, Faith and Farming Fortnight. As always, expect the unexpected on Monday morning when the children arrive. If feel your child needs to know more about this please do email me.
