Year 3: Proud artists and more!

Wow, we have had a brilliant start to Year 3! The children are getting used to the routines of Year 3 and have worked together to make our class charter.

Today in Art we looked at the Artists Andy Goldsworthy and Richard Shilling who both use the natural environment to make their sculptures. We looked at their art work and how they use colour and shape to make sculptures. We then went outside and made 2D pictures and how amazing they were!

We have also used our audio headsets to become immersed in our new topic of the Stone Age.

In English the children have been learning about nouns and pronouns. In Maths we have been working on partitioning using a part part whole model. Understanding that for example 47 is made up of 40 + 7.

I look forward to hopefully seeing many of you at the parent information session next week. In the meantime if there is anything that you want to discuss with me then please do come and see me on the door in the morning or email me.

Just a reminder that children should have hats in school please and suncream applied before school.
